UzA expands engagement with Uzbeks in the U.S. and Canada

Cooperation with the Uzbek diaspora
Vatan Global Alliance is one of the active organizations representing Uzbek communities in the United States. The organization places strong emphasis on developing connections between members of the diaspora and delegations from Uzbekistan.

With its participation, meetings, forums, exhibitions, cultural and educational events, and socio-economic initiatives are held in the United States. These events bring together representatives of the Uzbek community as well as delegations from Uzbekistan’s ministries, government agencies, and regions.

Such meetings often lay the groundwork for further cooperation: the parties sign documents, discuss specific initiatives, and reach agreements on the implementation of joint projects.

News from Uzbekistan will become more accessible to audiences in the U.S.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the distribution in the United States of official and verified information about developments taking place in Uzbekistan. This includes UzA materials covering major events in the country, the implementation of government programs, investment opportunities, and developments in tourism, culture, education, and other sectors.

This cooperation is expected to give American audiences and Uzbeks living in North America greater access to up-to-date information directly from official sources.

At the same time, the information exchange will also work in the opposite direction. UzA platforms are expected to feature stories about the lives of Uzbeks and people originally from Uzbekistan who live in the United States and Canada. The focus will include their achievements and initiatives, the success of young people in education and professional development, business and investment projects, as well as cultural and educational events.

A variety of formats are expected to be used, including articles, interviews, photographs, and video content.

Two-way information exchange
This approach will help address several goals at once. Uzbeks living abroad will be able to quickly learn about developments in Uzbekistan from reliable sources, while people in Uzbekistan will have more opportunities to learn about fellow Uzbeks who are successfully building their lives and careers in the United States and Canada.

Special attention is expected to be given to stories of Uzbeks who are achieving notable results through their knowledge, professional experience, and hard work. Vatan Global Alliance head Ozod Soliyev noted that Uzbeks living in the United States and Canada show strong interest in the changes taking place in New Uzbekistan.

According to him, the Uzbek diaspora closely follows the country’s socio-economic development, ongoing reforms, Uzbekistan’s international initiatives, and developments in cultural and public life. Ozod Soliyev emphasized that direct cooperation with the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan is highly important for receiving timely and reliable information.

He also noted that despite the distance, people want to stay informed about events taking place in their historical homeland. For this reason, access to verified information plays an important role in maintaining ties with Uzbekistan.

In addition, many people from Uzbekistan are successfully working and advancing in North America in fields such as science, education, business, medicine, and modern technology. According to the head of Vatan Global Alliance, the partnership with UzA creates an effective platform for comprehensive two-way information exchange.

UzA to expand its presence in the U.S.
During the meeting, Abdusaid Kuchimov, Director General of the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan, emphasized the need to make greater use of modern media opportunities to maintain regular engagement with Uzbeks living abroad. Another step toward expanding cooperation will be the work of an UzA public correspondent in the United States.

This opportunity is provided for under a memorandum of cooperation between the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan and Vatan Global Alliance. The document was signed in the United States during an earlier presentation of the book “Millat Shavkati.”
The public correspondent’s work will help expand coverage in Uzbekistan’s media landscape of important events and developments taking place in the United States and within the Uzbek diaspora overseas.

Following the meeting, representatives of UzA and Vatan Global Alliance agreed to continue cooperation in priority areas and move forward with the practical implementation of the initiatives discussed.

Further cooperation is expected to strengthen informational and community ties between Uzbekistan and Uzbeks living in the United States and Canada, while also making the exchange of news and important materials more systematic and timely.
