Ozod Soliyev: “People leave here with a deeper understanding of their history”

Ozod Soliyev, Chairman of the U.S.-based Vatan Global Alliance, visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and highly praised the scale, content, and historical and educational significance of its exhibitions. During the visit, Ozod Soliyev toured the exhibition halls of the Center for Islamic Civilization, which feature unique examples of Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural heritage.
The guest was introduced to the ancient civilizations that developed on the territory of present-day Uzbekistan, the growth of Islamic culture and education, scientific achievements, the legacy of prominent scholars and thinkers, and exhibits reflecting the country’s centuries-old history.

Ozod Soliyev noted that he had previously seen media coverage of the Center, but visiting the complex in person allowed him to gain a much deeper appreciation of its scale and content.

According to him, one of the most impressive aspects is the opportunity to see different stages of historical development presented in a single space — from the era of the First Renaissance to the present day.

“I had heard about this Center before and seen reports about it in the news. But I never imagined how extensive the exhibition would be. Here, you can truly feel just how rich and profound our history is. Presenting the path of development from the First Renaissance to the present day in one place is the result of tremendous work,” Ozod Soliyev said.

The story behind every exhibit
The Chairman of Vatan Global Alliance also highlighted the detailed way information is presented about the historical objects on display.

Visitors can learn about the origin of each exhibit, the history of its discovery and study, as well as its significance for understanding a particular historical period.

According to Ozod Soliyev, this approach allows visitors not only to become familiar with individual artifacts, but also to gain a deeper understanding of historical processes and the cultural heritage of the region.

“Every exhibit has its own story. Here, visitors learn where it came from, when it was discovered, and why it matters. A person does not leave this place the same as they entered. They leave the Center with a deeper understanding of their own history, Islamic civilization, and the past of our country,” he emphasized.

A center for the people of Uzbekistan and international visitors
Ozod Soliyev noted that the Center for Islamic Civilization is significant not only for the people of Uzbekistan, but also for international visitors. In his view, the complex offers an opportunity to explore the country’s rich historical, scientific, and cultural heritage in one place, while also gaining a better understanding of the region’s contribution to the development of Islamic civilization. The guest was particularly impressed by the scale of the work carried out, the modern approaches used in creating the exhibitions, and the efforts aimed at preserving, studying, and promoting historical heritage.

Ozod Soliyev also noted the Center’s international recognition, including its mention in the Guinness World Records, viewing this as one indication of the complex’s scale and uniqueness.

According to him, the work being carried out in Uzbekistan to preserve its historical and cultural heritage, conduct scholarly research, and promote it internationally is already producing visible practical results.

Connecting with Uzbeks abroad
During the visit, the activities of Vatan Global Alliance were also discussed. The organization works to bring together Uzbeks living in the United States and to implement various community, cultural, and other initiatives in partnership with them.

Following the visit, Ozod Soliyev shared his impressions of the conditions created at the Center and the exhibitions on display.
He emphasized that projects of this kind play an important role in preserving historical memory, strengthening interest in national heritage, and presenting Uzbekistan’s rich history and culture more broadly to international audiences.
