Presentations of The Glory of the Nation held in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Queens

The events were organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the United States, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York, and Vatan Global Alliance. The presentations provided a platform for dialogue among diplomats, representatives of American political and community circles, entrepreneurs, journalists, students, young people, representatives of nonprofit organizations, and members of the Uzbek diaspora.

Honored guests included Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the United States Furkat Sidikov, Senator Khusan Ermatov, Director General of the National News Agency of Uzbekistan Abdusaid Kuchimov, Consul General of Uzbekistan in New York Jamil Sharapov, and Vatan Global Alliance Chairman Ozod Soliev.

The events were also attended by New York State Assembly Members Alec Brook-Krasny and Michael Novakhov, The Bukharian Times Editor-in-Chief Rafael Nektalov, leaders of diaspora organizations, and representatives of the business and community sectors.

Reforms and the development of New Uzbekistan
The main focus of the meetings was on the ideas and principles presented in the book The Glory of the Nation. Participants discussed the changes that have taken place in Uzbekistan in recent years, including transformations in the economy, public administration, education, science, culture, and social policy.

Particular attention was given to the expanding dialogue between the government and society, support for entrepreneurship, efforts to reduce poverty, and the creation of new opportunities for young people and women. During the discussions, participants emphasized that many changes that until recently were viewed as long-term goals are gradually becoming part of everyday life in the country. At the heart of these transformations, participants highlighted the principle of respect for human dignity and the goal of creating conditions for every citizen to develop and reach their potential.

The Third Renaissance and historical heritage
One of the key topics of the presentations was Uzbekistan’s strategy for laying the foundation for the Third Renaissance.
Participants discussed the need to further advance education and science, support talented young people, strengthen historical awareness, and preserve the country’s national cultural heritage.

In this context, special attention was given to the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, established at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The project is intended to present the country’s scientific, spiritual, and cultural heritage to an international audience and highlight the contributions of the region’s prominent scholars and thinkers to the development of world civilization.

Central Asia and international relations
A significant part of the discussions focused on developments in Central Asia. Participants noted the strengthening of good-neighborly relations among the countries of the region and the growth of practical cooperation. Positive results of regional policy included progress in resolving border issues, expanding trade, economic, and transportation ties, and increasing direct dialogue among the leaders of Central Asian countries.

Uzbekistan’s international cooperation was also discussed. According to participants, the country’s openness and pragmatic approach to foreign policy are creating additional opportunities to develop relations with the United States and other countries in the political, economic, investment, educational, and humanitarian spheres.

Special attention to compatriots abroad
An important part of the meetings focused on Uzbeks living outside the country. Participants noted that compatriots abroad possess significant professional, intellectual, and community potential. Their knowledge, experience, business connections, and initiatives can contribute to Uzbekistan’s continued development. Participants also emphasized the importance of preserving cultural and historical ties with the homeland and passing these values on to younger generations.

New cooperation agreement
The presentation program was followed by a practical step toward further cooperation. The National News Agency of Uzbekistan and Vatan Global Alliance signed a memorandum of cooperation in the information and community spheres. The agreement is aimed at developing information exchange, expanding opportunities to provide American audiences with information about developments in Uzbekistan, and strengthening communication with Uzbeks living in the United States.

Awards presented to activists and community representatives
As part of the events, awards were presented to honored guests and active members of Vatan Global Alliance. Vatan Global Alliance Chairman Ozod Soliev received the “Friendship of Peoples” (Khalqlar Do‘stligi) badge for his contribution to strengthening friendship among peoples and developing ties with compatriots.

Rafael Nektalov, editor-in-chief of The Bukharian Times and coordinator of the Congress of Bukharian Jews of the United States and Canada, was awarded a medal by the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan. Awards were also presented to Sadullo Akhmedov, head of Vatan Philadelphia; Oleg Ustaev, president of the Bukharian Jewish community of Philadelphia; and Vatan Philadelphia activists Manzura Shukurova and Mizrobkhon Khamraev.

The awards recognized the community work of individuals who contribute to supporting compatriots, strengthening intercommunity cooperation, and developing ties with their historic homeland. In Queens, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Muhabbat Shamaeva received the first book from Senator Khusan Ermatov. She shared her impressions of the publication and spoke of her pride in her country, its historical heritage, and its modern development.

Dialogue between Uzbekistan and its compatriots continues
The series of meetings in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Queens demonstrated the continued interest of Uzbeks living in the United States in developments taking place in their historic homeland.

The presentations of the book The Glory of the Nation (Millat Shavkati) provided not only an opportunity to introduce American audiences and Uzbek compatriots to the new publication, but also served as a platform for discussing reforms in Uzbekistan, historical memory, national values, and intergenerational continuity.

The events also highlighted the importance of further strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Uzbeks living abroad, as well as expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
